National Research University of Electronic Technology (MIET) is the leading Russian technical university in the field of high tech and the only university of electronics among the NRU. Well-equipped laboratories, fresh outlook on the educational process and the unique integration of education, science and industry allow MIET to train the best professionals in the field of micro- and nanoelectronics, telecommunications and information technology.
MIET students can undergo training in accordance with 94 bachelor’s, master’s, and postgraduate programs, including master’s programs in English («Electronics for Communications» and «Hardware and software complexes for information processing»).
In addition to the main programs, the University offers challenging internships, as well as continuing education courses and programs. After completing training programs that were developed by MIET together with large international companies, a student receives international certificates from the companies participating in the corresponding programs: Microsoft, Cisco and others.
MIET holds the 4th place in terms of demand for graduates of engineering universities and the 7th place in terms of salaries of graduates of Russian universities who work in the field of IT. Thus, a typical MIET graduate is a professional who occupies a prestigious position in a large Russian/foreign company in the electronics or IT market, government agency or innovative small enterprise.
MIET graduates work in such large international companies as Microsoft, Intel, Synopsys, Columbus IT, National Instruments, Samsung, Hewlett-Packard, Sitronics, JSC MERI, Gazprom Neft OJSC, Sberbank, VimpelCom PJSC, Kaspersky Lab, Sibur Holding, IBS, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ernst&Young, SCG, Axel Springer, McKinsey&Company, Danone and many others.
Before entering the basic educational program at MIET, foreign students can learn Russian at this University: MIET has its own pre-course division. In addition to the Russian language, students also learn physics, mathematics and computer science. Upon completion of training at the pre-course faculty, each student receives a certificate confirming the required level of knowledge of the Russian language.
The University infrastructure includes a sports complex with a stadium, a swimming pool, tennis courts and indoor gyms. The University has its own Cultural Center with an audience hall accommodating 650 seats and rooms for dancing, choral, theater and other groups.
The MIET campus is located near academic buildings. The campus provides everything you need for living, studying and leisure: a dining room, a sanatorium, guest rooms for parents, a locker, two gyms, a dance studio and a club for those who prefer outdoor activities. Each student can also use the library and reading room or prepare for the exams in special classrooms for self-study. Classrooms of the Faculty of Design and the Center for Computer Education are also located at the Campus.
